Skid and Lion Make a Waffle
Once upon a time their was a lonely Lion sleeping in her den. Her dreams were
suddenly interrupted by skid. Skid was a tall, dark haired, sixteen year old girl. Not too
much different from Lion only the hair color was to differ. Lion grew up in the African
plains, but she moved to England where she would meet her best friend Skid. England
was beautiful and they had both developed british accents from living there. Who
doesn’t love a lion with a british accent? Skid and Lion lived right next to each other.
Their morning routine was the same everyday. Skid would come and pick up lion from
her den and they would go for breakfast. Their breakfast was also the same everyday,
a cup of England’s greatest tea and a crumpet.
“Lion hurry up,” Skid shouted from the door. “my tea’s going to be cold.”
“Shut up I’m coming.” Lion growled.
Lion came out of her room to meet Skid at the door. “Okay, let’s go.” They said at
the same time. They walked down the stairs and out the front door of their apartment
building. The sun was bright and blinding, and the wind was calm but breezy. They
walked down the street to the cafe where they enjoyed their breakfast everyday. But
when they sat down they could both tell something was wrong. The smell of the cafe
just wasn’t the same. The waitress brought them their menus, which was weird,
normally they just asked if it was their usual. They started to look at the menu just to be
nice and when they opened the first page there was a huge, bright yellow paper just
sitting there staring right at them. ‘NO MORE CRUMPETS’ the note said, they both let
out a gasp. They looked at each other and at the same time they said, “You’ve got to
be kitten me.”
The waitress came back and asked what they wanted. They had no idea. Lion
mumbled, “I guess, I’ll try the waffle..”
Skid followed, “I guess I will too.”
The waitress replied, “Well, if you order a waffle you have to make it your self on our
waffle maker.”
“Okay!” Lion said happily.
They walked over to the waffle maker and started to pour the mix onto it. They shout
the waffle maker and heard it sizzle. They got distracted by the growling on their
stomachs and when they turned back they saw the waffle mix oozing out of the maker,
it was a huge mess. Lion and Skid didn’t know what to do. The maker beeped and they
opened it, there was a golden brown waffle that looked delicious. They then made
another one and when that one was done they put them on a plate, one for each of
them. They brought them back to their table and ate them.
So the moral of the story is to try new things.
