For as long as anyone can remember people have been afraid of anything unknown.
In a way fear keeps us alive.
It was a dark saturday night. The dark town of erie was like a ghost town except for
a few stray cats roaming around. Dave’s parents were out for a few hours and he was
aloud to have a friend over. Dave is a teenager just like any other in his school. He
plays baseball and hangs out with his friends. His best friend is Harold, They have
almost everything in common. Of course Dave asks if Harold could stay over and he
said yes. They were excited because they were planning on staying up al night.
“Do you have any new movies?” Harold asked
“Ya I just got a really scary movie called from the dark, cue the scary music”
“Ha, i’ll make the popcorn” A creaking sound comes from the hallway.
“What was that?” Dave asked shocked
“It was probably just the house adjusting you little baby”
Half an hour later.
“Man this is almost to scary for me to watch and it’s only halfway through I could only
imagine how you feel” Harold said annoyingly.
“Shut u- Bam
“What Was that” There was a loud pounding like slam coming from the hallway. It was
the same sound over and over but it somehow was scarier and scarier each time. A
spine shivering breeze blew through the room. A shadow started moving across the
wall.
“Stay away” yelled Harold in tears and frozen from the shock the shadow. Dave got up
and got a bat and started swinging in the dark furiously. Bam, he it a lamp and it
shattered to the floor. Almost immediately a cat ran out from the darkness and harold
came with a flashlight but saw the cat and fell backwards screaming. Dave picked up
the flashlight and shone it in the darkness. The door was open.
“The cat must have gotten the door open and that was the breeze.” Dave said laughing
at harold for crying but didn't say anything because that would be mean.
“That was scary” said Harold.
“I know, we should probably go to sleep before we freak ourselves out more than we
already are” They then went to sleep and told Dave’s parents in the morning and they
all had a good laugh.
“Well I guess you could say it was a cat burglar” Dave’s dad said. Nobody laughed.
Well guess what, I laughed.
